Many of Britain´s most famous actors and actresses have begun their stage career in one or other of the well - known Repertory Companies, of which those at Croydon, Birmingham and Manchester are the most famous. One of the most flourishing provincial Repertories today is that atAmersham in Buckinghamshire. Members of the Company have to work hard, for every Monday they put on a new play.
