The Welsh are an ancient nation and the have kept alive their history and legends in song and story, for they are a nation of singers and story - tellers. They have also retained their own language. This photograph was taken during a Welsh festival, an Eisteddfof, when the performers, who may sing or recite either singly or in choirs, wear the robes of the Druids, an ancient religious sect.
