| Town Planners in School. THEY PLAN THE BRITAIN OF TOMORROW.
When the war is over a great task of reconstruction will lie ahead.
Planning in the most intelligent sense and on the most comprehensive
scale will be necessary to make Britain, her battered cities and towns
and villages worthy of the men and women who defended them. At the
Liverpool School of Architecture, the country oldest and best - known
architectural college, a generation of able and ambitious town planners
is being trained. There are now some 100 students (10% are women)
who take the Civic Design course which deals speccialy with town
planning; together with connected courses it extends over five years and
leads to Degree or a Diploma of Architecture.
O.P.S. WOMEN WILL PLAN TOWNS, TOO: There is considerable
number of women students in the course. They, even more than the
men, are interested in Housing problems. The girls in our picture are
reviewing their drawings after criticism." | |
