Escrito al dorso: "LOST PORTRAIT OF HENRY VIII FOUND. A lost portrait of Henry VIII, painted in about 1511 when he was 20, and over painted later with a landscape, has been found in Birmingham an will be on view at the Antique Dealer`s Fair, which opens at Grosvernor House tomorrow. IT was found by Mr. A.G. Stannard who works for a Birmingham wood pavement firm, and has been submitted to the National Portrait Gallery. In the view of the experts, it is almost certainly a contemporary portrait, and the framne is of the same period. Mr. Stannard, who for many years has collected paintings, china and glass as a hobby, was attracted yo the picture in a shop because the frame was of an early period, while the painting was that of a dreary landscape, he bought it for about 10/, and decided to clean the picture. The landscape vanished and there appeared the half - lenght figure of the bearded King Henry VIII. Photo shows: The lost portrait of Henry VII at the Antique dealers´s Fair, at Grosvenor House, London, W. 10/6/47. Topical Press." Obra de arte (ATT)
