Escrito al dorso: "GUNNER DRESSES RATIONES REVUE. When the curtain up at the Prince´s Theatre on the new London show `Fun and Games` it was impossible to realise all the worry entailed and the difficulties overcome to put on a show which presented no visible signs of war - time shortage in men or materials. Rehearsals were started, some of the dresses had been designed. The the dress designer, Billy Chappell, was called up. But during leave and off - duty time he carried on with his drawings; came to town whenever possible and Jill Casson, dress director, travelled to his millitary station. The dress director and the dress designer, one in [ilegible] and one in mufti, made plans to outwit the ration regulations. The show was dressed largely in curtain material, flannel and other fabrics which have not yet been rationed. This picture shows Mr. Chappell, the dress designer, spending a weekend leave in giving one of the dresses he has designed a final inspection. The London theatre, despite all the efforts of the Luftwaffe, is still has all its old initiative. THIS PHOTOGRAPH HAS BEEN PASSED BY THE CENSOR.
