Giles Gilbert Scott, who is a famous veteran of British architecture and
designed the new Anglican cathedral al Liverpool, has lately been
requested by the Council of Coventry Cathedral to submit plans for its
reconstruction.
The Cathedral Council, which represents the laity, as well as the clergy
of the diocese, has decided that the cathedral is yo be rebuilt on its
present site, and the outer walls, which can be repaired, are to be
retained. The predominance of the spire is no to be disturbed, and the
design and detail of the new work, ehile not to be an exact replica, i not
