| Escrito al dorso: "IN THE TEMPLE. LONDON. The Temple, a labyrinth of old houses on the south of fleet Street, belonged originally to the Order of the Knights Templars. The Templars church still stands there, and outside it are remnants of the cloisters. The atmosphere is, however, legal rather than ecclesiastical, and No.1, Cloisters is a shop that sells wigs and gowns to the lawyers. Fo the Temple is one of the Inns of Court, and is occupied almost exclusively by lawyers. It is also one of the most tranquil spots in London and there are few diversions more attractive than that of exploring it." | |
